Research interests

         Functional Morphology


         Behavioural Ecology


After working on the functional morphology of Vespidae mouthparts, I am currently broadening my field of research. I will include Apiformes (Bees) in my future research and combine my previous work with (behavioural) ecology and physiology.

In my PhD I will adress the effects of pollution on pollinators. I will not only investigate sedimentation of airborne pollution on plants but also trace the pollutants into the body of pollinators. Further, I will use experiments to estimate the physiological effects of pollutants on flower-visitors and invesigate how the morphology affects the uptake of particles.
