Research interests

         Functional Morphology

         Physiology

         Behavioural Ecology

After working on the functional morphology of Vespidae mouthparts, I am currently broadening my field of research. I am focusing now on Apiformes (Bees) in my research and combine my previous work with  ecological and physiological question.

In my PhD I adress the effects of pollution on pollinators. I not only investigate sedimentation of airborne pollution on flowers but also trace the pollutants into the body of pollinators. Further, I will use experiments to estimate the physiological effects of pollutants on flower-visitors and invesigate how the morphology affects the uptake of particles.
